Ice cream glows when licked, world first dark jellyfish ice cream.
A company claims to have invented glow-in-the-dark ice cream using synthesized protein from jellyfish. According to Charlie Francis, founder of the company called Lick Me I’m Delicious, “It’s glow-in-the-dark jellyfish ice cream using calcium activated proteins that react when they are agitated, or to put it a non sciencey way, it glows when you lick it.” One caveat:
As to whether it could be harmful to ingest, Francis wrote:”Is it safe to eat? Well, I tried some and I don’t seem to be glowing anywhere, so we’ll go with a yes for now. ”
‘Lick Me I’m Delicious’ has developed a range of odd flavors including horseradish and roast beef ice cream and port and stilton.
The company also has a portable liquid nitrogen machine. Liquid nitrogen is often used to instantly freeze ice cream because it vaporizes at such a low temperature and emits theatrical smoke effects.
